But I still wanna blog about it...

I bought my first pair of ~~Buaya~~Crocs!! Bwahahahahahahaha!!!

Pardon my disappearance (and I might disappear again after this) for such a long time. As you all know, I've been sent to Penang for a project. After been there for almost a month, I can tell you that... I'm a LIFELESS creature over there!

To make the condition even worse, I have a fucked up project manager over there. So far, there are only two staffs from my company over there - the fucked up manager and yours truly. You could've imagined that from the morning I wake up from bed, had my breakfast, and I started to do the works what the manager suppose to do. Actually I'm quite okay with that since I got nothing to do at the time being and my job that is within my scope has not reached yet (it'll start next week, so I'll be busy by then). Sometimes, it just get overboard. And... grrrr... I just don't feel like mentioning about it, otherwise it'll be a very loooong story.

So I did my the job, let the manager scold/nag occasionally which I just treat is as his farting now. After the work ended, back from dinner, I'll go to the hotel's business centre to online (if either one of the rooms that are equipped with internet connection are not occupied) and start to find anyone that's available to chat with. Otherwise, I'll watch movies that I've copied in my room alone. And the routine keeps repeating everyday.

Imagine that there are nobody there to talk with; Nobody and place to hang out; Staying in my room whole day long. My only friend there is my laptop. My company even let me, an inexperienced and almost-zero-knowledge engineer to be in charge there. They'll send someone over to support, but that someone is also the same level as me. It makes me even more pressured and I'm going to go insane soon I think. That's how misery my life is.

I'll be moving to Butterworth next week and I can't imagine how I'm going to live through it *frown*

My Convocation

It has been a loooooong time since I last updated or even visited my own blog. I've found a house somewhere in Kelana Jaya, and I've underwent a one month training gave by my company. I've applied for Screamyx, just got it some time ago and the usual things you can expect from it - the instability. It gets DC like every 5 to 10 minutes, and I'm still waiting to get it fix.

Anyway, back to the topic. I'm officially graduated! I had my convocation like erm... 3 weeks ago, and here are the pictures.

It was very crowdy and I dragged whoever I saw into taking pictures that day. Although I missed out a lot of my friends too as they're busy with their family and own friends. Hopefully we'll meet again someday.

That's it for the good news. Now, for the bad news...

I got assigned to Penang for 6 months by my company for a project! Just when I've just settled down in my new place T______________________T

And that means that I've to abandon this blog again for dunno-how-long *sigh*

I Am Employed!

I am employed!

Erm... not really yet cos I haven't sign the offer letter. The location will be in KL so these few days I'll be busy searching for houses/room to rent. I'm going to report to my future company next Monday if everything goes well.

I might be taking a short break from updating this blog to busy with something else, and of course, I have to wait for Screamyx to be installed.

So, anyone from KL (if there's any lahh... lol)that's reading this blog, next time we can have a meetup or teh tarik session. Oh and btw, got photography session also have to find me... LOL

Hopefully this break is ASAP (as short as possible) and I'll update if I have time and I can access to internet connection.

Bedugul Temple, Bali

Short Note:
Sorry for MIA for a week, I went to KL for an interview for the past few days and when I reached home, there isn't any ~~free Wi-Fi~~ internet connection anymore :(

The Bedugul Temple is located just right next to the Bedugul Lake in Bedugul. It is also one of the beautiful temples in Bali.

The main tourist attraction of this temple is that, one of the structure of the temple is located in the middle of the lake.

There is actually path that connects to that structure, however, it was covered up by the lake. So, to reach that place, you have to wait for the water to retreat, which will show up the path. Amazing, isn't it?

After that, we went for a little walk in the garden of the temple. With the fresh air and green scenery, it is indeed very relaxing.

When I walked out from the garden and approached the exit, I saw this...

Bedugul Lake, Bali

After we had our lunch at Bedugul restaurant, we had a walk around the lake just right in front of the restaurant. It was a sunny day but it's cool there.

There are several water activities on that lake. I'm wondering if the tourists that were playing those activities on the lake will freeze to death with the strong wind blowing them with water splashing on them.

Not much to describe the lake, so just let the pictures do the talking :P

Yeap, I scare people don't know I've visited that place before... hahahaha

Nusa Dua Turtle Sanctuary, Bali

It took us around 45 minutes to reach the Turtle Island from Nusa Dua beach.

By the time we reached there, there were already a lot of boats that fetched tourists "parked" there.

Before we headed to the Turtle Sanctuary, I took some photos of some of my friends...

After uploading their pictures (Ming Jie & Nicole) onto my blog for some times, now they're asking for publishing fees. As you can see, Sleepy As Usual has little visitors and doesn't earn much from Nuffnang advertisement. No money how to pay them lah if liddat?

So readers (if there's any), please do me a favor so that I can continue posting their ~~ugly~~ ~~funny~~ pictures in my blog. Here are two things that you can help:

Whenever I post pictures of Nicole, please please comment that she looks pretty in the picture as she always complain that she looks ugly in the pictures. I know your parents taught you guys not to lie, but... but... if I can't upload her pictures, I don't have anyone to ~~make fun of~~ praise anymore.

As for Ming Jie, she mentioned that she prefers to stay low profile. She even threatened to kill me once after I posted her pictures. So what I need you guys to do is whenever you see her on the street, just pretended you never seen this person from this blog. Don't bother to go up and say "Hi" after you recognized her through my blog. It's ok to be lansi. Even if I posted her pictures with her name in it, kindly leave some comments like "Who is she?" or "What's her name?" in the comment box so that she feels she still remain anonymous. Ok?

*Don't take those seriously ah, I'm just kidding*

Back to Turtle Island

I was wandering around in the so called Turtle Sanctuary (remember why I put a "" signs in the previous post?) and I saw this

10 to 20 turtles are kept inside an almost dried up pond filled with sand. Turtles are marine animals, they need water! They can't even give the basic needs of a turtle and they can even called themselves as "Turtle Sanctuary"?! WTF!!

Some of the turtles were struggling for water, dipping inside any pool of water they found eventhough the water level reached to their chin. Some of them just lied on the sand, as though they are giving up the will to live.

It's very sad to see them living in such a torturing place.

To make thing worse, when we were about to leave the Turtle's Hell, the workers even stopped us from exiting and forced us to donate some money to them. They would not let you passed through the exit until you've slipped the money into the donation box. If I'm not mistaken, they even asked for a minimum of 5000 Rupiah. I don't mind to donate if they really take care of the turtles, but after looking at the condition, I don't even wish to donate even if it's only 1 Rupiah. In the end, I just threw in the smallest amount of money in my wallet, 1000 Rupiah unwillingly and left that misery place.

I urged that future tourists to stop visiting that place after looking at the conditions of the animals there. Stop giving them support, may them closed down the "Sanctuary" to end the tortures.

Glass Bottom Boat Ride in Bali

It was a hot sunny day as we departed from our hotel to Nusa Dua beach in Bali. Nusa Dua beach is packed with water sport activities like banana boats, flying fish, jet skis... A lot of tourists were there when we arrived.

Our event for that day was to have a glass bottom boat ride to a "Turtle Sanctuary" located in an island nearby. Oh and do you notice the "" sign? I'll show you what it meant in the next post.

*Back to glass bottom boat ride*

OMG! How cool does that sound? Glass bottom boat ride!! Which means you get to enjoy the scenery belows the sea, looking the marine fishes swimming around the beautiful corals on top of the boat!

Everyone was thrilled! All of us couldn't wait to board the boat. We were hoping for some turtles swimming pass underneath our boat, or sharks, or even mermaids!

And only we boarded the boat, it was a disappointment. Look at the two pieces of glass glued on the floor of the boat. Damn pathetic man! At first I still think that the whole floor is made of glass, where we can see fishes swimming right underneath our feet.

For the first few minutes, we only get to see sea grass, and with some stones and sand -_-"

And after some time...

Finally, we get to see some fishes!!! The fishes can be counted with our fingers somemore!!! And it only last for like, less than 2 minutes.

There's even more fishes swimming next to our boat. The glass is totally useless. All you can see are just few fishes, dead rocks and sand. That's all. Disappointing only.

The views outside the boat are a lot more pleasant. Should've break the glass and let the boat sinks. That'll cover up the money wasted for this boat trip... LOL

Luckily there were something else for just to enjoy, or else we'll be bored to death. The sea is quite busy with boats and ships though.

There's even a kelong in the middle of the sea.

Goa Gajah, Bali

After the visit to the Holy Spring Temple, we headed to another temple, which is known as Goa Gajah, literally translated as Elephant Cave. However, you can't see any elephants there. Our tour guide, Su, did told us how the name comes from, but again, yours truly has forgotten bout it. Hehe...

To reach the temple, we had to go down the long stairs that leads to the temple.

The first thing we saw when we came down of the stairs is rows of stones, arranged on top of each other over a space. Surprisingly, yours truly still remember what Su told us the reason they arranged it like that (Bwahahahaha! I finally remember something!! Bwahahahahaha!!!).

The place there is actually a temple, built with stones. But after an earthquake occurred, the temple collapsed. The Balinese try to rebuild the temple but they couldn't remember how the temple looks like. So, they just arranged the remaining stones and left it there. Apparently, it turned out to be some kind of an artistic structure.

There's some sort of thing that look like the one we've seen in the Holy Spring Temple. There're two ponds, with three statues each and each with water pouring out. I don't know where the water comes from though.

Finally, the Goa Gajah! This place is used to be a place of meditation for monks. After it was turned into a tourism spot, the monks left. Reason? How to meditate in an environment like fish market after the noises made by the tourists? It was stuffy inside though as there's no windows inside the cave(duh!). It is very dark inside too so no pictures inside the cave.

As we were going to leave the place, suddenly i saw something! I saw a MODEL...

Eh Ming Jie, you got send your resume to Ah Long Pte Ltd or not? With that kind of chio pose and look, you sure kena hired wan. Hahahahahahaha...

Inside Tirta Empul Temple

After enjoying the spring, we explored the rest of the temple before heading home.

Coincidently, some Balinese are there to fulfill their prayers.

Just the right time to take the picture. We continued our visit without wanting to disturb them.

There are a lot of this kind of hut inside the temple. It is built for the deities if I'm not mistaken. One thing I'm very sure is that those huts aren't built as resting shed for tourists :P

Statues resembling the deities are built surrounding some of the huts. In this case, the statues are craved from stones.

Next, can anyone guess what's the purpose of this thing below?

For those who want to have kids, this is the right place. The myth says that whoever pray and drink the water that comes out of this stone, one will get pregnant and give birth to babies (applied for female only ahh...). For male, maybe it makes your sperm stronger and swim faster (I made this up myself, I don't know what will happen to a man). So if any of your friends get pregnant after they came back from Bali, you should know what they did in Bali. Making love all day long without using protection lahhh... what else? lol

At the back of the temple, there's a big pond with big koi swimming inside. One of the largest among the rest has the size of a baby shark. Don't ask me what they're fed with, I'd like to know the answer too.

Still remember the Ming Jie on the wheel chair? Well, she's got a lot better now, but still look a bit cacat through the picture though... HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

ps: She's always fine, nothing happen to her *touch wood*, I'm just teasing her. It's my bad as a lousy photographer that make her looked cacat :P

The Source of the Holy Water

Balinese believes that drinking or bathing in the holy water will cure diseases and bring back their youths. They didn't mentioned about improving the length or business hour for your penis though, ~~Geek was very very disappointed when he found out~~too bad.

One of local even brought a huge bottle to fill it with the water, I guess it's for his daily drinking. Anyway, I just washed my face with the water, hoping that it'll turn me into a hemsem looking boy... LOL! Wait, didn't I just admit that I'm not hemsem? Damn.

To continue our journey into the temple, we are required to wear sarongs if the length of our shorts is shorter than our knees. Girls are required to wear it as well and those having period are prohibited from entering. Female tourists are excluded from the rules even if they are having their period that time, so don't worry ;)

TADAAAAAAAA!!! I'm wearing a sarong!!

Upon entering, we saw a huge pool, surrounded by walls of bricks. I'm still wondering how they built the walls around the pool. Mind you, the temple is hundreds years old. There must be some clever civil engineer around that time. Eh Robin, learn from them can? Hahahahaha!

This pool is the source for the crystal clear water you saw in the first picture. There are three springs in the pool if you look closely. You can identify them easily with the darker sand compare to the sand around it.

Plants are growing inside the pool, you can even see fishes swimming inside it. Amazing, isn't it? And by the way, did I told you that the water is cool? :P

The Holy Spring Temple

After the visit to Mount Batur, Kintamani, we headed to one of the famous temple in Bali - Tirta Empul Temple, also known as the Holy Spring Temple in Tampaksiring, Bali.

Legend says that a war between good and evil has taken place here. And... errr... I've forgotten the story told by our tour guide, again. Okay, I wasn't paying any attention to what he said because I was busy snapping some pictures. The only thing I can remember is that the water here is the source to the victory for the good side. Anyone want to tell the story? I'll update the story here if there's any :P

The Hero

The main entrance to the temple. It was difficult to capture the main entrance without any distraction with tourists going in and out of the place.

This little entrance is just right next to the main entrance. It looks more like a backdoor of the temple to me.

The Barong Dance

This is a little bit boring (I mean the show), but at least it's worth mentioning compare to the visit to Batik and Silvery shops before the visit to Kintamani. So... hmmm... errr... where should I start?

After our breakfast in Adi Dharma Hotel, the hotel we stayed in Bali, we went to a local show, the Barong Dance.

Balinese, which are mostly consisted of Hindus, believe in Gods of good and evil. The Barong Dance basically describes the fight between good and evil. Barong is a character in Balinese mythology representing the good spirit that protects the people. The Barong is somewhat like Chinese Lion Dance, just that the pace is very very slow compared to the Lion Dance. Luckily they added some humor to the show to avoid the tourists from falling asleep.

I like the Barong for don't know whatever reason. It's cute, don't you think? Hehe...

Before the shows start, every tourists gets a brief description about what's going on throughout the show. Otherwise, I don't think anyone will understand what's happening. Even with that (the description), I still dunno what's happening in the show... hehehehe

Volcanic Mount Batur

Remember I said that I was going to somewhere in Indonesia to become a millionaire in one of the previous post? Well, that somewhere is... Bali! I'm not going to blog bout the food there though, cos it doesn't really suit my taste. The food there is almost the same throughout all the restaurant I went. Nothing worth mentioning, so I'll just blog more about the places I went :P

I was going for a errrr... 5 days trip (I think... Man! My memory is really poor.). It's kinda late when I reached there. All I did was to have a dinner, check in to the hotel, have a night swim and sleep.

*fast forward to the next day, straight to Kintamani. Oh, the buffet lunch at Kintamani Indonesian Restaurant is skipped too... Hehe!*

After we had our lunch, we went out from the restaurant to have a photoshoot! The restaurant is actually located on a hill where it offers a great view of Mount Batur.

Mount Batur is an active volcano. Yes, it is able to erupt with lava which you normally see in on TVs. My tour guide did told us when was the last time it erupted, but... I forgot it. It's kinda cloudy that day, that's why you see the shadow of the cloud casted on the volcano. I waited for the cloud to disappear to get a clearer view of the volcano but they just don't go away :(

Eventhough a volcano is nearby, the air there is cold, just like Genting, and fresh too. A small breeze will send you shiver in cold (or it's just me cos my fat isn't much?).

I believe I can fly, or... I believe I can kill a fly with my smelly ketiak? Hmmmm....

Le Garden

I was dining at a vegetarian restaurant nearby my area with some friends. I'm not a fan of of vegetarian, in fact, I hate vegetarian. I'll try to avoid as much as I can whenever I heard someone suggested that we were going to dine in a vegetarian restaurant. One of my friend, itu ~~celaka~~ Nian You, told me that the food there is soooooooooo nice that it's worth trying. I stopped trusting his taste ever since.

The food I ordered, which I don't even want to remember its name, taste so awful that I almost vomited it out. It was a torture swallowing the food into my throat and I almost died of starvation in the process. Vegetarians believe that there'll be good karma if they stopped eating meat (am I right?). Well, that's so true! After a few swallowing of the ~~rubbish~~ food, Jason SMSed me. He told me that there was a food review he need to do and he need someone to help him to finish the food. The place will be Le Garden in Dataran Pahlawan. Only idiot ~~like Jian~~ will reject the offer, right? Furthermore, I suck at food photography. This is the best time to polish my skill on food photography. Without hesitation, I agreed and off we went to the restaurant.

We met Allison there. Jason will be in charged in photographing while Allison was doing her interviews with the staffs there. My job there was the simplest - help them finish the food while snapping some pictures along the way. Shiok tak? Bwahahahahahaha

Here comes the food served that day...

Look at the cheese dripping out from it!!! Among all the pictures I took, I guess this is the one I satisfied the most, and of course, the most presentable one... hehe...

So guys, eat more vegetarian, good karma will come to you. It's proven by me! LOL!!

The Fountain of Red Church

After we crossed the street, we were first greeted by the fountain.

It's difficult to miss the fountain when you are driving pass the Red Church. It is standing just right next to the road and it's very eyes-catching.

So before we headed toward the Red Church, we stopped by the fountain and snapped some pictures. By that time, tourists, lots and lots of them, started to fill up the historical place. They started to appear as some kinda distracting objects in the pictures and I was trying my best not to snap ~~those little pests~~ them together with the landscape which might ruin the picture.

To make thing worse, the water shattered across the place after it hit the pillar of the fountain. You still can get "hit" eventhough you are a few feet away from the fountain. I can't stay quite long there to avoid the water from entering my dear little Canon 450D.

Don't ask me, I can't read it either XD

After a few shots, we headed toward the Red Church where the crowds are. Will show you in the next post :P

Red Church Melaka I

It was Monday and I am going to have my last paper on Wednesday. Since I don't have the mood to study anymore, I followed Kimfei and Ser to A'Famosa to polish our photography skill. The two fella here finished their exam already and they were looking for something to do to kill their time and I took this chance to ~~curi tulang~~ refresh my tiring brain.

After we had our breakfast, we started from the street across the Red Church.

It's a little bit hot on that sunny morning. But the sky is crystal clear and blue, I like!

This windmill is built to show that Melaka was conquered by the Dutch centuries ago, I think... who give the damn anyway? LOL

We had a little bit "photography warming up" before crossing the street for the Red Church.

In case you're wondering what it can do, it's actually a light sensing robot. It follows the brightest light source it detected while scanning for obstacles that are blocking its way. The video below should explain how it really works :P

Pool Side

After at walk around the Jetty, we headed to Holiday Inn which is just next to it.

On the way going up to the floor where the swimming pool is located, Geek suddenly had the urge to answer the nature's call.

Me: Need I company you or not? (cos he's very timid one XD)
Geek: You like.

And his reply made him regretted.

While waiting for him to find, dig out and do what he supposed to do, I see what I can snap in the restroom.

Of course not to forget my own self lahhh...

So off we went to the third floor (if I'm not mistaken) where the pool is located after Geek had finally accomplished his mission.

The view there is great, where you can overlook and admire the Strait of Melaka while swimming.

Nobody was swimming that night = no unwanted objects... Wahahahahaha

My Private Library

Even if I have a private library of my own, it's ashamed that I rarely used it for books reading or studying. Most of the time I spent in it is to do other chores.

The only time I'll read and study any books or notes is when my final exam is near. I can pay full concentration to what I'm reading and yet, I can't spend more than 15 minutes inside. Before I tell you how I manage to pay no more than 15 minutes of full concentration in it, let me show you how my private library looks like first.

Wahahahahahahaha!

I'll bring my notes inside when I'm doing my usual business if I can't finish them in time. That's when I can pay full attention compare to when I'm studying in a room with a laptop in front and bed on the right; or in library where my eyes will wander, looking at passer-by or searching for pretty chicks.

But in toilet, other than your notes and your poo, what you can only see in all directions are only...

Comparing the plain walls, poo and your notes, which you think that's more interesting? ~~Of course it's your poo la, by looking at your poo, you can remember what you ate for the past few days.~~ For sure it's your notes lah! That's why I can pay full attention on my notes.

So boys and girls, when you want to study or do revision without and distractions or disturbances, you know where to study now. Guarantee you'll get flying colors! LOL!

In case you are wondering why I call it a library since there's no other reading material around beside my notes, actually there is. The instructions and ingredients at the back of the shampoo bottles are reading material what... HAHAHAHAHAHA

Shiny Jetty

Exam week has started(thus the lack of updates)! My first paper falls on this Friday and the another one on next Wednesday. Wish me luck!

Anyway, here's some shots I took at The Jetty, Melaka.

We went there for a walk after we had our dinner. Chinese always say:"消化, 消化.", this is the traditional way to let you food flows fluently through your intestine and reach pre-asshole faster lo...

There's actually a famous karaoke lounge at the end of The Jetty. It's famous for its cheap rates and it's one of the favorite places amongst MMU students. Might blog bout this in the future but definitely not today. It's a very very rare opportunity to come here to enjoy the scenery while inhaling fresh sea air instead of ended up singing in one of the room ok? I must show the pictures I took lah, if not dunno have to wait til when!

Melaka River Cruise

We were waiting for Nian You and his sister to arrive. It's ashame he could not make it in time. It left us no choice but to hop into the boat without them.

The boat ride cost RM5 each, and it took us around 45 minutes for the cruise on the Melaka River.

What amazed me is that the city council actually renovate and beautify the buildings along the river. It's really a mega project.

The Menara Taming Sari was supposed to be built next to the Watermill. When they were digging the soil for foundation, they found some artifacts left by the Portugese ~~in the~~ ~~15th~~ ~~16th~~ ~~17th~~ a few centuries back ( man I suck in history >.< ). Thus, the Menara Taming Sari is relocated to where it is now.

I wonder if Jack Sparrow is inside that ship... hmmm...

The sky was clear, I was admiring the view and busy snapping the pictures while the boat was moving.

And, I realized that taking picture with a limited light source on a moving object is very very challenging. Luckily some of the pictures I took are presentable :P

Bling Bling Melaka

4 years ago, this place was a bus station.

After the bus station has moved to the new location, which is known as Melaka Sentral now, the old bus station has been deserted until Melaka's City Council revive the place and turn it into an eye-catching tourism spot. Amazing huh?

A small fun fair is constructed. A small version of Eyes of Malaysia, known as Eyes of Melaka is set up. From what I've seen, I don't think you'll see the whole Melaka even if you've reached the peak cos the views are blocked by the buildings. If you really want to see the whole Melaka, have a ride in the Melaka Spinning Tower instead.

The buildings next to the river are installed with neon lights which brighten up the night sky until it almost blind my eyes. Ok lah, not that bright lah...

Melaka's Solero Shot

But not as spine-chilling as that (the Solero Shot) lah.

It is known as Menara Taming Sari. The 110m tower is finally opened to public and me and the gang were going to try it!

The air-conditioned cabin takes you high above the ground while rotating (in a very slow motion), so you can enjoy the 360 degree views on Melaka.

It takes around 5 to 10 minutes for the ride, but the only thing I can remember is that once it took off, I was standing and busy snapping the pictures non-stop. I didn't even have the chance to enjoy the view :(

Got My Canon 450D Finally

Today is the day when a big hole will be burnt in our pockets.

After having our breakfast, we headed to Sg Wang, KL all the way from Melaka to get something that's luring us for the past weeks and months.

When we reached Sg Wang around 11 something, the whole place is so quiet, not crowded like during weekends. I like.

Without wasting much time, we started going from shops to shops for price surveying. The price is almost the same, but the services from the shop varies. Some explain to us how the things work patiently; some just ignore us; and one even like quarreling with us (Kesian Han Ping, he's the one kena. Luckily I don't know how to speak fluent Cantonese! XD)

We tried a few models to "feel" the body before deciding. The one I aimed for the past weeks didn't disappoint me. It fits perfectly in my hand.

Fattien came around 1pm and we had lunch together while he shares his knowledges with us. He's a nice and friendly person.

After the lunch, Fattien had to go back to his work, leaving 4 of us to continue hunting for our babes. After some surveyings and discussion, we finally decided to get from the first shop we visited in Sg Wang. The shop lady smiled when she saw us. 4 dSLRs to be sold at the same time with cash, imagine that.

After some negotiating and cock talking in the shop, we paid the money, and walked out happily with 2 Canon 450D, 2 Canon 400D and empty pockets.

We had yumcha session in Old Town Coffeeshop together with Hung Wei who dropped by in Sg Wang for the fashion show at 8. So the 5 of us, sitting in the coffeeshop, drinking and chit chatting until the time when we should be going back... YEA RIGHT! Right after we sat down, all of us took out our dSLRs and started to play with it like thrilled kids. Of course, we learned something from Hung Wei who is glad to teach us.

dSLR: Canon vs Sony, which to buy?

I bought my cam, A700, around a year ago. Within that period, I had used that cam for various occasions. With the knowledges on photography grows day by day, I've finally face some limitations from it. The ISO sucks a lot from 400 onwards, the shutter speed is too slow to freeze the motion, the grip is too small for me which decreases the stability... and because of that, I'm too lazy to bring out this "toy" as I can't get the shiok effect from it. Oh and by the way, I'm using Canon A700, not Sony A700 ^^"

And now, I'm thinking for an upgrade; an upgrade to the world of dSLRs. I did a lot of homeworks and researches, looking for the best performance over values entry level dSLRs that are available in the current market. And here comes the headache part, after narrowing the choices of entry levels dSLRs, it leads me to a few options that I can choose from:

Sony A200: One of the best choices entry level dSLRs for budget buyer. With one of the main selling point which is built in Super Steady Shot (SSS), I mean, where on Earth that you can get a dSLRs with built in image stabilizer with the price of just RM1.7k with SAL17-50mm kitlens?

Sony A300/A350: Another Alpha series from Sony. Apart the features which is almost the same with A200, A300/A350 offers true lifeview and a tilt screen! A350 has been launched and available in the market while the date for A300 to be on sale is still uncertain. If I'm going to choose one of the two, most probably I'll go for A300 for its lower price and I don't think I need that much megapixels from A350. And the big question is, when will A300 be launched?

Canon 400D: An almost two years technology and it was always on my mind whenever entry level dSLR is mentioned. Cheaper accessories is one of the reason why I wanted to go for it. I think an additional battery grip is needed if I were to get it as most of the feedbacks from users I've read are small grip of the dSLR.

Canon 450D: I told you that 400D was always on my mind when it comes to entry level dSLR right? Well, it was always on my mind until... this 450D appears in the market! With the features and body build that is 10000 times better than the 400D (OK, I exaggerate too much on the 10000 times better part), the only set back for me is the price. If only it was launched six months ago so the price would not be that high as now *sigh*

You must be wondering why don't I just go for 450D? Well, I've mentioned bout the best performance over values thing right? I want to get something that's worth the money I spend on. Added that expensive/new != good. Those money doesn't come easily and it takes me some times to save them. VERY DIFFICULT TO SAVE THOSE MONEY YOU KNOW!!! That's why I'm still hesitating to decide on one of those. I don't want to regret after spending so much money on it.

In case you are wondering why Nikon is not inside my list, let me put it in this way, the D40, D40x, D50 and D60 do not attract me at all. If I'm to get a Nikon, I'll go for D80 but D80 is waaaaaaay out of my budget :( My initial budget is only around RM2k plus and the most money I can ooze out is 450D which is below Rm3k, and that already leave me stuck with what is included in the package for a few months or maybe years to come.

I really don't have any clues on which one to get when it comes to getting my first dSLR where all of them have their own pros and cons. And again, I have to emphasize that I'm looking for one that is worth every cents I've spent on it. Headache right?

Choosing a suitable dSLR is quite a tiring task which I'm totally clueless now, however I've created some useful *cough* tips after getting one though. And these might be the stuffs that I'll keep on reminding myself after I bought one to prevent from regrets. Here goes:

1. Keep your eyes wide open before choosing a suitable dSLR. After you bought it, close you eyes and don't look back so you won't regret.

2. Short term pain (in the pocket) is always better than long term pain (regret for the rest of your life), get the best that you can afford.

3. For those that still keep on hesitating after getting their own dSLR, has weak heart or can't accept criticism well, just stick and chat with your own brand community, as fanboys from other brands will start to argue and bash your puny lousy dSLR that is worth nothing more than a piece of shit which in the end will kill your confidence for the brand you go for and make you regret after the purchase. So stick to your own brand community as they'll praise your dSLR like it's a diamond that drop from Heaven, even if it isn't that great at all and can be easily pawned by competitor's product. At least it can boost your little ego and confidence, that's a good thing... right?

4. If the war between brands can't be stopped, you have to prepare the war by equipping yourself with your ultimate weapon (the dSLR), unlimited bullets (battery power) and magazines (memory spaces), together with FLASHbang that'll blind your enemy while making them inferior with your BIG and LOOONG bazooka (lens FTW!!!). Remember to bring along a combat knife or a parang and no, it has nothing to do with any of the dSLR and the accessories, just in case his dSLR pawns yours (blame yourself for not being rich :P), you can always the knife and... leave a few scratches on your enemy's lens and camera body, that will make him/her cry. What? You think that I'm going to tell you to stab them? I'm not that violent wan... hehehe

Enough of the craps, for those that is new to dSLR and want to get a suitable dSLR, besides doing tonnes of research and homework, it is advised to try out the dSLRs and see which one of them that you are comfortable with. FYI, that's the most advise given for those that are clueless, undecided and full of hesistations (like me) I've read.

And of course, if you like to leave some comments regarding this article, especially shedding some light for me to walk the right path, you are welcomed to do so! However, please keep in mind that flaming or bashing without supported facts will not be tolerated and will be deleted immediately. Fanboyism is allowed (there must be some reasons why you want to support the particular brand and I'd like to hear it) but please don't make it to the extend that you start to bash other brands.

Please let me know if you know any shops in KL that offers the best deal for the four models I mentioned, especially 450D. Thanks!

On a rational thought, don't judge a dSLR by its brand.

Side note: I guess this is the longest post I've written in my blog so far, and even myself is amazed :P Going to get busy for midterm exam and FYP report :(

Qing Ming Festival (清明节) is a traditional Chinese festival and it falls on this Sunday. Usually family members to visit the ancestor's tomb, paying their respect to the ancestor and cleaning the tombs. This tradition is to remind us to appreciate and be thankful for what our ancestors had done to make sure the future generations live a comfortable life.

It's a belief that by burning items with the ancestor's name written on it, the ancestor's will receive the particular items in the other World. Which means that the fire works as something like Poslaju (courier service). The only difference is that the recipient get the goods almost instantly and the service is free of charge.

My Robot's Donut Drifting

In case you are wondering why I did not updated my blog for almost a week, this is what I was doing...

If you have watched Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift, you still remember the scene where Han was driving his Mazda RX7 doing a doughnut around a hot chick's car and win the phone number? (I'm not sure whether Impak Maksima has the same scene or not *roll eyes*

Well, my robot can do it too, but without the hot chicks and some smoke...

Actually this is not how I program it to be, it just behaved on its own. Perhaps there's short circuit in its brain that makes it gone crazy (pun intended).

As there is only 3 more weeks to hand up the report, and troubleshooting the circuit is very time consuming, so I...

Today is the big day where the future of Malaysia lies. As a citizen of this wonderful country, whom is hoping for a better tomorrow, I'm going to teach you on how to vote the correct way. This guide is very useful especially for the first timer.

First of all, you have to be 21 years old and above, and you've already registered as a voter.

Next, decide on who you are going to vote for. If you are not sure or you are in dilemma, you can go to the parties' ceramah while checking on their background on what they've done for the past years. You can head to YouTube for more videos too.

After you've decided your choice, check your voting location here. Don't be surprised if you found out that your name appears eventhough you've yet registered or you're not even 21 years old yet. For the dead, don't be excited til you bang your coffin by thinking that you're still alive in this world and you're qualified to vote. Dear Pickle,

It has been a year since the day you left me. How are you doing under the Rainbow Bridge? You sure made a lot of friends there with the charm you have huh.

Eventhough a year has passed, but the memories of both of us together are still fresh inside my mind. From the first day I brought you home, you brought me lots of laughters and entertainments. I can still remember when the light was switched off, which is the time you'll come out from your hidebox and explore, I'll place my hand inside your cozy home and you'll come to sniff and lick my hand out of curiosity. I can still remember you love my bed so much that you'll cuddle inside inside my blanket and start sleeping like a pig, eventhough sometimes you left me some "gift", where I need to clean my blanket and mattress cover. I can still remember that once I put you on my laps while I was playing my computer, and suddenly I felt some warm water started spreading across my pants and my skin, you got me again without any warnings. I can still remember the way you run, the way you curl up when you felt threaten but uncurl again when you found out that it was just me, the way you chewed your favorite mealworms out of my hands where you accidentally bit my fingers sometimes...

The happy moments came to an end when you became ill, very ill. No local vets can treat you well. That was when I made the most difficult decision in my life, that is to end your suffering by putting you to sleep. I could not bear to see what you were going through anymore. You could not even stand up. You were completely paralyzed. It's very heart breaking to see you suffers. After I took you from the vet's hand, I tried not to cry, even when my eyes started to fill with tears. I should be happy about it as your sufferings had came to an end. I hope I've made the right decision.

I'll miss you, always.

Hotdog And Boiled Eggs

Last night I went to Gadek Hotspring with a bunch of friends. It is located near Alor Gajah and it took us around 30 minutes drive from Melaka.

The hot water in Gadek Hot Spring comes from natural water well. The smell of the sulphur fills the air. It's been quite some time since I last been there and it was the right time to there after the rain stopped where the air is cool. Furthermore, relaxation is what I need now :P

My whole body became lighter and the stiff muscles became loose. I can feel that I'm going to lift up into the air anytime with every steps I take. Upon reaching home, without having any bath, off I jumped onto my bed and slept like a pig instantly. There's only one word to describe that...

Jian told me that I was on magazine cover, which of course I don't believe. So off I went to the nearest magazine stand to look for the magazine in doubt. And gosh he was right, I really do appear on a magazine cover!

It's a relief that the magazine is not National Geographic featuring some Monkey Business thou.

Soon, I'll be haunted with tonnes of assignments, not forgetting my Final Year Project, followed by exams. The good old days is coming to an end soon.

This will going to be the worst and busiest semester ever. I'm gonna miss the happy moments :(

The Reason Why Chap Goh Mei Is Not Celebrated Like Usual Anymore

Pardon my disappearance for such a long time. The reasons I did not updated my blog for so long is because of:
i) Busy Chinese New Year
ii) My Melaka house got broke into during CNY where I was back at my hometown celebraing CNY
iii) and after I settle the stuffs and a few visits to the police station, Screamyx failed on me. I was left disconnected from the internet life for more than one week. I had to post this post in a nearby cafe.

Anyway, CNY has just ended and yesterday was Chap Goh Mei, that falls on the 15th day of CNY which marks the end of CNY. In Southeast Asia, it coincides with Chinese Valentine's Day. Unmarried woman will gather near the sea or river and toss tangerines into the sea or river to hope their future spouse will pick it up. Sad to say, this tradition begins to died down, and it might be caused by this:

I'm back to Kuching, again, for the Chinese New Year. As usual, Air Asia is my only choice for its cheaper price than MAS but it turned out that the journey from KL to Kuching was not a pleasant one. Let me show you why:

Other than that, this is the first time I faced "airsick". The shaky flight was/might be caused by:
1. Bad weather
2. Lousy pilots
3. Faulty plane!

My flight was delayed from 7.40pm to 9.30pm and I reached LCCT at 2.30pm due to the time booked with the taxi before I got the SMS from Air Asia telling me that my flight has been delayed. Furthermore, my flight was delayed again due to repairs on the aircraft.

During the flight, loud sounds was coming out underneath my feet and the unstable flight make the condition worse. It was like shaking you inside a bottle of bees.

Upon landing in the Kuching International Airport safely (thank god), I walked out from the plane, went down the staircase and saw one of the pilot holding a torch light checking the belly of the plane!

It's lucky that nothing happens during the flight. Phewwww....

Reached KL this afternoon, ready for a new and last, hopefully, semester to begin.

Time flies so quickly. 3 months ago, I was preparing for my industrial training, buying all the clothes needed, reporting in to the company...

I was assigned to the electrical department, unfortunately electrical things are alien to me since I am from electronics background. I started to learn from the technicians, who are very generous and helpful. As days went by, my knowledges on electrical stuffs grew from 0 to... 0.5. Seriously, I still have not much idea on almost all the things they did during my training... bwahahahahahaha...

Anyway, I will stay in KL for a few days, doing my shopping for my Chinese New Year clothing most probably before going back to Melaka to... continue... my... FYP *sob*

And damn, I haven't finish my Industrial Training report and its presentation slide T____T

The Largest Condom

Condoms come in various sizes to fulfill different size categories for men.

We have the small size for the penis the size of a Tweety Bird,

the normal size for the size of Woody Woodpecker,

and the large size for those that have the size of the Big Bird from Sesame Street.

Even the condom that is made for the Big Bird is not larger than my arm. You must be a stallion if you have a penis that is larger than my arm.

Let's stop these nonsense, it's actually a tanker chute. Its purpose is to fill the tanker trucks with cement from the silo above.

The truck drivers will control the length of the chute with a control so that the chute will fit nicely to the ~~vagina~~ hole of the tank. After that, cement will start flowing into the tank from the silo on top.

It really look like a condom, isn't it? XD

I was a little bit regret for not bringing my camera along to the stream last week. I headed back again, and this time, I brought my weapon along, going further and deeper to take nice pictures of the scenery until my shorts is half wet and I almost drown my camera.

This is what happens when I was left in the workshop without any technicians and wasn't assigned with any job. By the way, don't try this at home, I'm a trained and professional errr... weight-lift skater *cough*

I don't know where all the technicians went out to do their own job, leaving me behind with boredom. Thus, I end up doing silly stuffs to kill my time :P

The Fresh Air from Mother Nature

My cousin had just opened a canteen at one of the Polytechnic school in Matang, Kuching. It takes almost one hour of driving to reach there from Kuching city. Together with my family, we went to have a look at his new canteen.

Upon arriving, we was told that there is a small path across the road that lead to a stream in the middle of the jungle. It has been a long time I stepped in the icy cold water that flows down from the top of the mountain. Without hesitation, off I went, walking along the small path.

It doesn't took me long to get to the river eventhough I had to go up and down a few slippery slopes. It's ashame that I did not bring any extra clothes nor my camera. I could only dip my leg until the water reaches my knee level and start snapping some pictures with my phone.

Here're a few photos I managed to snap, enjoy :)

The fresh air, the cool water, the music from the insect, the chirping birds.... I love Mother Nature! I might think twice if you ask me to go out shopping with you, but the story will be a little bit different if you ask me to go out to the nature for some outdoor activities :P

Good bye 2007, welcome 2008.

A new year marks a new beginning. For a new beginning, goals are to be set and accomplished in a year duration as an achievement and knowing how far one can go after looking back at the past.

There are some challenges that I have set for myself, but before that, let's see what I've done in 2007. Memorable events that still stay in my brain until now, as in what I can remember when I'm writing this post. Here goes:

- I deleted my old blog which I did not update it for a long time and started a new one which is the current blog you're reading now.

- Pickle, my hedgehog had a tumor and ever since, he lost the ability to walk. Local vets do have the knowledges and skills to cure it so far. In the end, I decided to put him to sleep to ease his pain forever. It is one of the most difficult decision I need to make in my life. I guess he's playing happily under the rainbow bridge.

- I got attended SCUBA Diving course at Pulau Dayang and I'm a qualified Advance Open Water diver now. (Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4, Day 5 and Last day)

- Got my Dell Inspiron 1520 notebook from my mum. She's a beauty, I mean the notebook, not my mum. Mum is gonna kill me if she sees this ^^"

Hmmm... I guess that's all... most of it are actually private moments with friends and family :P

As for the new year resolution, I'd like to...

- Finish my FYP on time, pass all the subjects and graduate on schedule.

- Got a job after my graduation.

- Have some diving trips, at least one. Pulau Dayang is within my budget so far, but if I have the money, Pulau Sipadan/Bali Islang/Phuket will be my target. As usual, any sponsors? lol

- Be a gentleman so I can woo more girls *evil laugh*:P

and last but not least...

- Design a new layout for my blog!!! I can't get stuck in Christmas mood forever right? What I need now is some inspirations :(

Korean Steamboat

I'm not a fan of Korean food just as the Korean dramas, but when we've ran out of idea where to dine for our dinner, we headed to Korean Da Om BBQ house at Jalan Song, Kuching.

The restaurant is opened by a Korean family. The whole family migrate to Kuching as the dad works for an electronic company here. I guess the mum is too bored staying at home, thus she starts a Korean restaurant to ease the financial burden. You can hear the family chatting in Korean which made me feel like eating in Korea.

After scrolling the menu, the four of us decided for Boo Dea Ji Gea, a spicy steamboat with pork, kim-chi, ham, sausages and crab sticks.

Other than the one we ordered, there are other 2 more choices, which are: Bool Go Gin Jun Gol, a beef and vegetables steamboat with Korean noodle and a Hea Mool Jun Gol, seafood steamboat in Korean style.

The soup is spicy and hot, just as it is stated in the menu. I did not realized it as I was busy looking at the ingredients inside the soup back when we were ordering.

Throughout the night, my mouth is kept open for eating and sucking in cool air to cool my mouth from the hot and spicy food. For all the time I though Korean soup is tasteless, but the flame inside my mouth proves me wrong.

There are time when trainees aren't given tasks to do by the supervisor. Today is one of the boring days for both Ying and me.

Usually, we just stand aside, watching the technicians doing their stuffs. But today, it is so boring til Ying brought her own laptop and she started to play some computer games.

I mean, what kind of attitude is that? We were suppose to learn as much as we can when our university provides us with such opportunities. But you even brought your own laptop and started to play games as if all the technicians are dead?

Yes, I know that the allowance is only RM900 in total if the company remember our 3 months existence there, which RM600 from the total allowance will be paid to the blood sucking university as school fees for I don't know what's the reason. The leftover RM300 is not even enough to cover our petrol, let alone lunch. However, we still have to do what we should. Where's the professionalism?

The technicians did not gave us any tasks doesn't means that we don't have to work. There's always job like sweeping the dirty floor, wiping and tidying up the messy table or even offering the technicians some help.

But no, you just sat there and played the games as if your dad owns the company. So that's how a soon-to-be engineer behaves? It's very disappointing you know?

Yeap, Christmas is just around the corner and I've changed my template to match the Christmas theme. How is it?

After the holidays end, I guess I need some inspirations to design a whole new template. I can't be using this theme for the whole year right? *cough* I forgot how long the snowman background stays in my Friendster. I think there must be someone thinking that I celebrate Christmas throughout the year, hehe! *cough*

For a lazy ass like me, it's like asking me to study non-stop for two hours straight. The process, which involve in drawings and codings, is tedious. Furthermore, I'm not familiar with HTML and CSS coding. It just make my life miserable when it comes to changing my blogger template. How I wish there's some programmers out there to help me with my template sometimes. Hehehe

But in some circumstances, which is a rare occasion, I can sit in front of my PC, drawing, coding and troubleshooting some of the problem exists. There must be some recipe for this miracle to happen, I guess the ingredients are mood, time and ideas. Without any one of these, I'm just a lazy guy who rather waste his time watching movies and playing games :P

Burning Clothes

I was looking at a "Ways to save Fuel" poster in front of the staff room and I saw this!

OMG! I don't even know my mum goes to and back the sun everyday just to dry my shirts!

But I guess there's no need for my mum to go to the Sun just to hang my shirts. We already got our first ~~space flight passenger~~ angkasawan, Dr. Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor Al Masrie bin Sheikh Mustapha to do that for us. That's what we call, "Hero". Hehe!

I'm not sure the preposition is used correctly or not, it just sound weird, don't you think so?

My First Allowance

I've told that I won't be getting any allowances for my 3 months industrial training as the budget for trainees ran out. It was disappointing to me, most of my friends get at least RM300 per month, some even gets RM1000 per month. Imagine how many things I can buy with that money, with the leftover from petrols and food. I envy them.

Unfortunately, I'm not the lucky one. I have to work for free, paying for the petrol and my lunch from my own pocket until 2 weeks ago, I was asked to meet the HR executive. I was asked to give her my name and IC number, and I was been told that there might be some leftover from the budget. I did not gave any high hopes on the amount that I'm going to get, I was expecting something around RM100. Even the amount not much, it's better than none.

So, I've been waiting for the called from the office and yesterday, the superintendent in the electrical department asked me to take my allowance from the office. Off I went, with a big grin on my face.

After meeting with the person in charge, I signed on a piece of document, and the person in charge gave me my allowance in the form of a cheque.

To my surprise, the amount written on it is RM300! I was delighted. It was my first allowance for the first month ever since I was working for 7 weeks. Hopefully it will not be the last, there'll be two more to be exact when I end my industrial training.

Lucy the Hedgehog

I've been quite busy with my real life recently. Apart from going to and back from work, I helped my mum with some of the house chores, not sweeping the floor or wiping the windows, you know, that kind of jobs. The stuffs I did burns calories, tonnes of them. For the record, I've made a rack for plants and pots using recycled woods, cleaning out the backyard, and painted my sister's room. With the leftover free time, I'll sit in front of my computer playing Need for Speed: ProStreet/browsing forums and blogs/chatting with gf or friends. I just don't have the mood and energy to blog, I guess that explain my short disappearance here :P

Anyway, these are some of Lucy's cute picture I took before I came back to Kuching. FYI, Lucy is my adopted hedgehog and a weapon that will be used to throw at Auntie Evie if I get to meet her one day... MUAHAHAHAHAHA!

I'm not sure what attracted her but she kept biting my bed sheet after she sniffed it. Maybe she's attracted to my masculine smell aka 男人味.

Hedgehog anoints (you can see it in the video below) by licking its body which will later form foams on it. Scientists and researchers are still looking some explanations for this mysterious behaviors.

In my humble opinion *cough*, smells sensitive hedgehogs perform this act when they're exposed to new environment, where the smell of the new environment is different from the previous one. The new smell will send the hedgehogs anoints, forming the foam that contains some sort of chemical that has the same molecule with the new environment, making the hedgehogs blend with the new surrounding thus invisible to the predators' nose. This is just the assumption I made as I do not own any suitable equipments to give it a test. Hopefully any researchers or scientists will accidentally visit this blog and give it an experiment. Who knows it might be a cure to AIDS or cancer, right? Ahhh... Nobel prize, here I come~ *daydreaming*

Tarantula's Prey

After 5 months of fasting, without any food and drinks, my tarantula finally molted.

Don't be surprise when a tarantula can goes up to 5 months without eating and drinking anything. Tarantula doesn't grow like animal or human, when the time is right, they'll grow by shedding and replacing their old exoskeleton with a new shell, and the process is also known as molting or ecdysis.

Tarantula will then start to fast in preparation grows longer in duration when the tarantula ages. The last time my tarantula molts was around 6 to 7 months ago.

Just as the tarantula underwent this stressful stage of molting when the tarantula is in the most vulnerable state, it is then left for a week or two for the fangs to harden before it can pierce the deadly weapons into prey's fresh and inject venom to paralyze the victim.

After months of waiting, finally I get the chance to watch the tarantula has its first blood after the molt. As cruel as it sounds, I enjoy the scene. I'm not some sort of freak or there's a screw loose somewhere in my brain, but the way the tarantula hunts amuse me. The tarantula will wait silently, feeling the vibration from the web underneath the legs as the prey walks by. When the prey reaches the attacking distance, in a split second, the tarantula just "fly" and inject the venom into the prey's body. Everything happens will just a blink of an eye.

Top of the Silo

The highest silo in the factory I am having my industrial training in, Silo 4 to be exact, stands up at the height 20 stories. It stores cement which later will be loaded into tankers and trucks underneath. I have been waiting for the opportunity to go to the top and today is the day.

Walking up the stairs was a big challenge for a zero-daily-exercise man, me. Running up the stairs to the top of the silo without stopping shouldn't be a problem five years ago when I was a state swimmer. That was the past when unlimited energy kept flowing out of me. Now, I had to walked up the stairs slowly and steadily, while gasping for some air.

Remember that I told you about a day when I need to climb a 15 stories high silo up and down three times? Well here it was, standing on the same level when I took the picture. This is the second highest silo in this plant.

Looking up, this will be the height I need to climb to reach to the top of silo 4 *gasp*

Upon reaching, I slightly peeped down to see how high I had climbed out of curiosity. The only thing that separated me and the ground was just a metal mesh. Looking at the ground, my leg went a little bit numb and my asshole shrunk, stopping the green watery poo from flowing out.

Automatically, I walked slowly and softly, afraid that the metal mesh fell apart and down I went, straight to hell. My hand grabbed my handphone as tight as possible that I can even crushed an egg with the same force. Imaging my handphone slipping out my hand and crashed to the ground sent a shiver down my spine.

Looking down the metal mesh, the tanker appeared so small, smaller than the gap of the metal mesh. I admitted that I actually threw some stones down to see if I hit the truck, or better still, the driver. Now, I know why birds like to poo or pee on people's head.

Despite the scary height , it offers a great view of sceneries, without any blocks other than the tiny weeny dust.

Industrial Training Starts

It is the fourth day for me undergoing my industrial training in a local cement factory and it is really tiring. For example, there is one machine broken down today and I need to follow a technician to fix this thing. That particular machine is on top of a silo, 36 meters high up the ground, which is approximately 10 stories high. The best part is that there isn’t any elevator available and to reach there, we need to climb up the stairs using our own feet. I climbed up and down three times today. Wearing a face mask to prevent inhaling dust into our lungs, it limits the amount of air going into my mouth and nose when my heart is pumping faster and faster for oxygen. By the time I reached the top of the silo, I was sweating like a pig while gasping for fresh air. For those who want to slim down your weight, I can tell you that this is the best solution.

Anyway, in these four days, I have summarized the good stuffs and followed by the bad ones of the activities I faced.

The good news: Remember I told you I haven’t found a place for my industrial training? Well, I found it in the last minute and working inside it right now.
The bad news: The budget of allowance for trainees has run out, which means there’s no allowance for me.

The good news: Every Saturday in the first week of every month is holiday.
The bad news: Only the Saturday in the first week of every month.

The good news: The staff room is air-conditioned and I was asked to sit on an old comfortable sofa since there is no extra desk for me. I mean how relaxing can that be?
The bad news: I spent most of the time in the dust-filled factory, stuffy workshop or under hot sun to repair stuffs.

The good news: This company views the safety of the workers seriously. We must wear Personal Protective Equipments (PPE) when going out to the factory to avoid unwanted injuries. The first day in the company, I’ve not only briefed about the importance of PPE by the safety healthy officer but also been reminded by the HR & Admin Executive, Electrical Superintendent, and also my supervisor.
The bad news: The company does not provide safety shoes and helmet, and there goes my RM100.

The good news: I don't need to wear formal attire to work, casual wear will do just fine.
The bad news: I bought a few formal shirts, a belt and a slacks before they tell me about this. There goes my another RM450.

The good news: There’s short break in the morning and afternoon when workers and staffs can go out yumcha or rest.
The bad news: I don’t have enough time to go to the nearest coffee shop to yumcha. There’s a canteen but it’s dirty and smoke comes out from the air-conditioner than cool air. The way they cook is unhygienic and what makes the canteen more disgusting is that there’s an Ah Pon cooking.

The good news: I was given a face mask for free to prevent inhaling too much of cement dust which is hazardous to our respiratory system.
The bad news: I realize how bad my mouth smells when wearing the face mask after meals.

The good news: I was given an ear plug as well to avoid noise as high as 89dB which will damage our hearing system. The ear plug will be very useful during lectures, I can have a peaceful nap in the lecture halls when school starts.

Back in Kuching for 3 Months

I’m back in Kuching since last Tuesday. Without any broadband installed in my house, it’s quite difficult for me to view webpages, let alone updating my blog. I’ve tried my luck to scan for any unsecured wifi around my house and “borrow” them to online but there’s none available.

It’s been a long time I last ate food in Kuching and I’m really enjoying them right now and for the next 3 months before going back to Melaka after I finished my industrial training.

Speaking about industrial training, I am going to start mine starting next Monday in an electrical department, which is totally unrelated to what I study in my university – electronics. To be on the bright side, it’s good opportunity for me to learn something new. I’ve spent RM450 (Mum’s money, not mine :P )today just for 3 shirts, a safety boots, a belt and a pants just for this industrial training *sweat*

Anyway, this is just a short update as waiting the page to finish loading going to take some time with dial-up. I kinda miss Screamyx now, no Screamyx = no movies :(

Ice-cream Phobia Day

Haagen-Dazs is having an ice-cream buffet at Bangsar Village 2. With RM33.90, you can eat as much ice-cream as you can, but you can only eat 8 selected flavors. I reached KL around 4pm and my friend, Mahui fetched us to Village 2.

Upon reaching, Haagen-Dazs was packed with people. We need to wait for our turn to feast on the ice-creams. It didn't take for a long time before we got ourselves a seat. I started eating scoops by scoops, bowls by bowls. On the seventh scoop, I had to call it a halt as the ice-creams are too creamy. We left Village 2 and headed to 1 Utama for a walk and a dinner.

After hours of deciding where we going to have our dinner, we finally made our decision to dine in Zuup. It is just located beside Pets Wonderland.

I never knew that there's a small chamber hidden behind the wall eveytime I passed by. This was my first visit. We found a place and started to order from the menu.

Sirloin Steak. I asked for 75% cooked. Overall, the steak tasted just fine. Tender and juicy. Not bad.

I've forgotten what dish is called. I just know that it's a fish... Hehehehe... The Spaghetti Bolognese costs RM12.90. While the sirloin steak and the fish costed RM18 with a drink or dessert of the day. When we were about to leave the cafe, the waiter took out a free dessert for us as complementary, which is...

Pre-Birthday Celebration

Ever since the introduction of National Service into our country, my birthday falls in the semester break every year when I'm back at my hometown in Kuching. I attended birthday parties of my friends in West Malaysia but I never had any chance to attend my one one. As this is my final year(hopefully) in MMU, I decided to have my pre-birthday celebration (which actually fall on 29th October) together with Kenny's post-birthday celebration (his birthday fall on 5th October).

We had our dinner at Good World Restaurant in Melaka Raya as Kenny's cousin works as a manager there, if I remember correctly. The dishes of the night are...

The cold dish. The cold dish is usually serve as an appetizer in Chinese Restaurant and the ingredients varies with restaurants. Frankly I can't identify all the ingredients but it surely opens my appetite, or maybe I'm too hungry at that time.

The Shark Fin Soup. It tasted like any other restaurants I've eaten and it's still one of my favourite and the one I look forward to when I dine in big dinners in Chinese restaurant. For a boy who come from an average income family, I just like it. Yes, I know that I killed the sharks indirectly.

The Roasted Pig. The skin is crunchy and the meat is juicy. I just don't like the layer of fat in between. I'm more curious on how they manage to arrange the meat.

Steamed Fried Fish. There are two pieces of fish, one is steamed while the other one is fried. I've forgotten the name of the fish. With the sauce that came together with the fish, they taste sweet!

I don't know what this vegetable called and nothing that's special about it, so let's just skip... hehehe...

Black Pepper Ostrich. I never eaten ostrich meat before and I always wanted to try Ostrich Chop (if that's the way they call it). This is the first time I eat one and I can tell you that it tastes like errr... a chicken, maybe somewhere around there XD

Oat Prawn. The prawn is big and juicy, I like! One question, usually you eat the prawns with or without the exoskeleton?

The Mille Crepe as our birthday cake. Only one word can describe it - SONG!

Got my PADI Open Water and Advance Open Water license card finally after the diving trip at Pulau Dayang (Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4, Day 5 and Last Day) about 4 months ago.

I'm hunger for another SCUBA diving trip. What I need now is a dive buddy, a dive site and time!

To my fellow friends, see you in third semester, I don't want to see you guys again in the exam hall in the second semester. To those who is also bloggers, update your blog often ok? What I Did In My Last Paper

If you've read the previous post, you should already know that I've done badly in my exam. So in this post, I'm going into more details how I screwed it.

I had around five days to study that subject before the exam and it was going to be my last paper for this semester. Furthermore, I cannot fail any subjects this semester as I'm going back to Kuching for my industrial training. If I fail any of the subjects, I need to take a leave from the company, take plane to and back to Melaka just to sit for the supplementary paper. It's not only a waste of money but also my time. So I studied and sat this exam with the burden on my shoulder.

When I took my seat in the exam hall, I flipped the question paper to see the questions inside. At that moment, I can see that I can only answer only a few questions. My mind went blank. I started writing whatever I can come out with even if I knew that I was wrong. It was like 300 Spartans battling the large Persian army with everything they can eventhough they know they'll lose and die in the end. The only difference is that King Leonidas get to see the sexy half nude Oracle while I only get to see a male Indian lecturer with a thick mustache, the best phrase to describe it is - it's like heaven and hell.

All I want to ask is to get not an A but just a C to pass this subject. I know that the chance of me passing that paper is slim, almost to nil but I'm trying to be as optimistic as I can before the result is released *sigh*

The Ultimate Freezer

It looks like an ordinary refrigerator that you can find in any other household.

If you open the door, even the messy content isn't unusual for a shared fridge among housemates.

Until you lift up your head, and see this...

Look at the amount of ice inside the freezer. With that amount of ice, I think I can make hundreds bowl of ice kacang with it. I can barely open the cover, the maximum angle I can open is only 20 to 30 degree. The thickness of the ice made the door stuck, you can imagine how bad it is.

Since I've finished one of the two final exam paper this morning and my next paper is on this coming Saturday, I was given the task to destroy this massive amount of ice before it gets out of hand and sink a Titanic.

I start to tackle the ice with this little Excalibur Junior.

I stab, I slice, I cut with every strength I have, but it doesn't do any damage to this Everest Hill. I need to think of an idea to battle this monster. Finally, the bulb above my head shines "Ting!" An idea strikes. Off I go to find the secret weapon that can tame this ice beast, which is...

A HAIR DRYER!!!

MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Switching to the max speed, I start to point my gun towards the creature. Soon, ice starts melting, water starts dripping. By looking at the scenario, I can imagine what will happen to the North Pole and then the rest of the World if we still can't view the Global Warming matter seriously.

Off I go blowing my hair dryer on the ice, the amount of ice getting lesser and lesser, but it's still thick. I must get to the magic button to end all this, I can't give up yet...

Alas! The magic button which located far top right of the ice freezer. The button is frozen with the ice, which makes it difficult to push or even turn the knob. With the hot air from the hair dryer, the solid ice around it starts to melt away. With an easy push, I let the defrost function does its job.

This mission is almost the same like archeology expedition in North Pole, where we need to overcome the cold, hard and cruel ice to get to the target we're searching. The only difference between us is the expedition might find some prehistoric animals like Woolly Mammoth hidden behind the thick ice, as for me, I found...

... hotdogs instead.

End of FYP Presentation Part 1

I've just finished my Final Year Project presentation part 1. There's still one more presentation to go on Monday. Time to update my blog :P

As you have read, I'm having the FYP presentation today. I took some time to prepare my presentation slides and speech, with a little bit more practice before my presentation.

After all the preparations, the time has finally came. I'm ready for it. In any presentations, wearing a formal suit doesn't make you look just smart, but also give a good impression on how sincere and serious you are in presenting your works to your audience. Now, here comes a big problem...

HOW TO TIE A NECKTIE????????

I have to google for the correct method to tie that bloody thing (click here if you are just like me)! Even though I've followed the instructions shown in the webpage, the tie still look untidy on me. In the end, I gave up and ask the help from my housemate. Hehe!

I am the second student for my session. The first student took a long time presenting his slides that I start to feel sleepy. Gradually, my nervousness starts to decrease, which is a good thing.

Finally, it's my turn. I started to present like how it should be done. I'm not that worried about my presentation, but more on the Q&A sessions where unlucky students will be bombard with a lot of questions.

At the end of my presentation, my moderator started to ask me some questions and one of them sound like this: What is the purpose of your robot?

Actually, I've asked the same question to my supervisor a long time ago before the presentation. What the supervisor answered is a little disappointing to me. "It's just a toy", he said. Initially, I though I'm going to build a useful robot that will actually contribute to the society. Who knows that the society I'll be targeting is just children. It's my Final Year Project and I don't want just to make a toy.

After I was questioned with the same question by my moderator, I replied: "My supervisor said that it's just a toy," with a tiny weeny bit of sarcasm. Everyone in the room giggled, and I was actually sound like shooting my supervisor indirectly, which is a bad move by me if he feels that way.

Please don't kill me, I promise I'll be a good boy in the future T___T

All I hope is that he doesn't take it seriously and he won't deduct my marks because of this. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with my presentation, just that I'm a little bit worried about the marks given because it will affect my CGPA a lot. Anyway, thanks for the wishes guys! For my friends that turn up in the presentation to ~~steal my ideas~~ support me, thanks a lot! I appreciate it :)

Post A Letter Using Plastic Bag

My sister need to get my parent's signature to apply for PTPTN. The instruction is written that 3 copies of the form is needed, but my smart sis here sent only one copy back with her signature imprinted on the form. In fact, you can't photocopy the form which has a signature on it. Since she doesn't has a printer, I offer to help her to print out the form and pass it to her so that she can post it to my parents in Kuching.

Pig Mooncake

Since mooncake festival is coming soon, you can see shops or booths being setup and start selling mooncakes. Eventhough the mooncakes come with different flavors from the traditional red bean paste to strawberry flavor, the shape of the mooncakes are still the same - cylinder.

However, one particular shop came out with a brilliant marketing idea. Since this year is the year of boar, the shop makes the mooncake into cute little pigs!

Look at their watery eyes, it's like begging you not to eat them... but it doesn't work on me... MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Other than the pig, inspired by the famous internet songs "Mouse loves rice", they came out with...

There's one with porcupine shape but too bad I didn't snap the picture.

I need to finish off the ~~pork~~ pig mooncakes as soon as possible before "someone" starts to accuse them for causing river pollution *cough*

4 Things to Keep Me Worried for the Next 2 Weeks

Toward the end of the semester, with lots of assignments need to be handed up, reports to be submitted, and not forget about presentations. Before we can rest to grasp some air after all the hassles, final exam is just around the corner.

Well, that's what I'm going through right now.

First, my Analog Integrated Circuit assignment where we are required to design a layout of an IC. Groups are formed and required to choose one of the topics given, and the lucky group of mine chose the topic no other groups picked, which made us the only group. The only group means that we don't have any other group to refer, any help to receive and advise to listen. We have to do everything on our own without the help of the lecturer as the lecturer doesn't even know how to do and the assignment itself is a nightmare - difficult, without any guidance.

Second, Electromagnetic Interference. I'm not going to whine about this one as I still can cope with it :P

Third, FYP... again! Progress report, PCB fabrication (anyone has laser printer? I need it to print my PCB track), hardware soldering, presentation slide to prepare and finally, the presentation! *vomit*

Finally, my industrial training. I heard from my mum that I got an offer from a company (hopefully) but the bad news is, there's no monthly allowance for me. I'll leave this to the last option. Hopefully I can get offers from other company (anyone wants to hire me?) *keeping my fingers crossed*

When I first arrived at Melaka, I took my dinner at a kopitiam near my campus. I ordered Strawberry C for my drink but the auntie gave me a weird look and asked me what is that. Only I realized that such drink doesn't exist in West Malaysia. If you go to Kuching, any kopitiam serves this drink fyi.

I bet a lot of you out there are wondering what drink is that too. So, I'm going to teach you how to make one yourself.

You need a can of F&N Flashy Fruitade (or Strawberry, I haven't tried with other flavors yet, and if you had, do let me know about the result). F&N Flashy Fruitade was called Fantasy before they changed it to the current name if I'm not mistaken, we (Kuchingnite) call it Fantasy Green, hence the name Fanta C, where C = milk added.

Then you need Ideal Milk from Nestle. Other condensed milk aren't preferred as it need some time to completely dissolve into the soft drink and it doesn't taste as good as the one with Ideal Milk in it.

Fill the Ideal Milk 1/8 of a mug.

Pour in the soft drink into the mug.

You'll see thick foam of bubbles starts to build up on the surface when you pour the soft drink into the mug and there you go, you have a Fanta C. Simple yet cooling especially under hot weathers.

Eh, you West Malaysian be a bit more creative can? XD

When I went to Pulau Dayang for my SCUBA diving last time, I was asked by Ahmad, the vice president of MMU Diving Club, what would I want to be if I'm a marine fish during an ice-breaking session. I replied anything will be fine. Being any marine life from a plankton to a blue whale is one hundred times better than being a pathetic human, isn't it?

Now, I have a clearer picture what I'm going to be... The killer whale!

All this while, I though Great White Shark stays on top of the food chain and nothing can beat a hell out of it. But the Orca gives me a second thought about that.

Nando's Jusco Melaka

After having heard that Nando's is offering unlimited free refill of soup and garlic bread for RM7.25 and unlimited free refill of ice lemon tea for RM5.25, something like a all you can eat buffet, I headed over to the branch at Jaya Jusco, Melaka for my lunch + dinner.

After ordering the food, we are requested to fill the empty bowl given with soup and garlic bread on another plate give on ourselves.

The chicken mushroom soup served that day tasted like the one from Campbell's, the only difference is that they've added some chicken slices, probably to convince you that you're really swallowing a chicken mushroom soup. Not much complains about this since almost all the franchise serve this kind of soup, nothing special bout it.

I'm quite disappointed with the garlic bread. The bread is cold and soft, too soft for a garlic bread. It's baked for some left and they just leave the bread on a place with a cover for customers to take whenever they've finished their garlic bread without even keeping it warm.

Other than that, I've ordered a 1/2 chicken with coleslaw and french fries as side meal. The chicken meat is too stiff and dried. It's not juicy and tender like Kenny Roger's. What made it worse is the coleslaw and the french fries. I was like eating just raw vegetables - tasteless, and the amount of curry powder spread on the french fries is too little.

Mild peri-peri for me :P

The only thing that cheer me up that day is the sweet cold ice lemon tea, and I get to refill for more! Okay, I admit that ice lemon tea is one of my favorite drink :P

How I wish if they let me bring my empty bottles and fill them up

After the meal, I went to watch Ratatouille (oooh, I spelled it right in my first attempt! Wahahaha). Quite a nice movie. I wonder when will my gerbils cook for me... *starring at the stars outside, dreaming*

New Gerbilarium Setup

My good old Screamyx is down this evening. Being bored, I walked out to my living room, looked at my gerbilarium. It’s time to change their bedding.

So off I went, took out the three boys and put them inside a carrier tank filled with bathing sand, let them have a nice sand bath to clean themselves while I’m busy with my cleaning.

I took out all their toys, poured their stinky dirty bedding into a plastic bag to be thrown later. Cleaned the tank, poured new beddings but this time, I put a lot inside the tank just for them to dig until they break their claws (MUAHAHAHA!), put back all the toys and some hay for them to chew. After I’m done with everything, I placed the three boys back to their gerbilarium. Gosh, they enjoy themselves exploring the new setup, digging the thick bedding and chewing non-stop with the hay.

The little ninja starts climbing on it which makes me worried that they’ll chew the cover and escape. Instead of hanging, I took down the coconut and placed it on the bedding.

One thing worries me now, the water bottle seems like it’s too low and the gerbils will chew it sooner or later. The rascals had destroyed 2 to 3 bottles, I have a feeling that the current bottle will be the next victim.

My life is getting busier. There are a lot of things need to be done, thus the lack of time to update the blog. Not because I’m lazy hor, I got excuses one…

I just finished a midterm exam yesterday, and as usual, I screwed up. I don’t really care anymore since I already used to it. The time I get flying colours in my exam is the time that there’s something wrong about me. Anyway, another midterm exam is coming up on the next Thursday, just the day before National Day. National day doesn’t mean anything to me anymore other than… it’s just a holiday. Countdown anyone?

I’m going to have a Final Year Project (FYP) presentation two weeks from now (eh coursemates, correct ah?) and my project is only 10% completed. There’re a lot of stuffs to settle, ICs to be soldered, wires to be connected, experiment to be done which leave me no choice but to stop lazing around before I meet my supervisor to show him my progress and the presentation.

Not mine actually, it belongs to my roommate, Woon Yen. He envies Jian get to post his circuit on his blog so I mar help Woon Yen post his on mine since he doesn't have a blog. Good roommate like me where to find... *cough*x2

Turning a House into a Tunnel

Getting a new toy for my girls (my pet gerbil) is what I wanted to do, which I decided to make a cave for them to play and explore. In the end, it turned out to be a disaster. Furthermore, I don't have the time to go to KL to get them a new toy but I wanted to give them something new.

I was searching some stuff to DIY until the little wooden house that I bought from Pet Safari at Ikano Powerhouse gave me an idea.

Having inspiration from the cave, I am going to turn it into a tunnel!

All I have to do is just to take off the roof of the house, rotate it to 90 degrees for it to lay sideway and there you go, you have a tunnel. Simple yet creative (isn't it?)

Kuching Laksa

It travels all the way from Kuching to Melaka, and it's one of my favourite food. Eventhough the soup is a little bit dried up, it is still tasty like how it should be.

It's been two months since I last ate Laksa when I was in Kuching two months ago for my semester break. I finished every single bee-hoon and every single drop of the soup. Conclusion? Satisfaction!

In the world of Internet, you can find a lot of words with different writings, formats and spellings. Most of them, I mean... ALL of them are very annoying to read as long as it’s not written like how it supposes to be. Let me show you this few examples.

The Hazardous Disposable Chopsticks

How the disposable chopsticks is made:
1. Bamboo trees are cut before they are sent for further process.

2. The bamboo is shredded by using machines into the chopstick shape.

3. Then, the bamboo is bleached by using sulfur and hydrogen peroxide to look whiter and cleaner.

4. Later, the chopsticks are laid under the hot sun for drying purpose.

5. The chopsticks are packed before importing to other countries.

6. It takes a few weeks before it reaches the destination, which is exposed to pests like cockroaches and rats in the ship. Upon arrival, the chopsticks are sent to a factory to be wrapped and packed before sending out to the restaurants and consumers.

If you break the chopstick, you can see a lot of monkey-face-look-alike thing inside the chopstick, these are caused by the leftover of the chemical.

Some facts:
1. It’ll give out an unpleasant smell if the chopstick is socked in water for one week.
2. If the chopstick is burnt, the smoke that comes out from the chopstick is acidic when tested.
3. Avoid using disposable chopstick that is too white if it’s compared to the original colour of the bamboo or wood. Chopstick that is too white may have been bleach excessively.
4. It is advisable to soak the chopsticks in hot water before use to release carbon dioxide.
5. It’s better not to use these chopsticks for bbq or leave it in the soup as it tends to release more carbon dioxide.
6. It is suggested to smell the chopstick before use. If any sour smell, possibly it contains carbon dioxide. Soak them in warm and hot water for 2 to 3 minutes to reduce the carbon dioxide.

According to some reliable sources, it was found that the disposable chopsticks are being recycled by reusing sulfur and hydrogen peroxide.

Seremban's Siew Pao

It’s been a long time since I last ate siew pao from Seremban. Just before heading back to Melaka, we headed to one and only one shop that is still open for business as most of the shops close at 6-7 pm and it was around 9 – 10 pm when we decided to buy siew pao before going home.

The shop is inside a complex just located beside the PLUS highway, you can spot it easily on the Seremban – KL route. The name is amusing though. I still remember that back in the secondary school, I’ve studied the Roman Empire, the Babylonian Empire, the Chinese Empire… but the name of this complex is: Empayar Siew Pao Seremban (aka Seremban’s Siew Pao Empire). This makes me wonder that when Japanese came and conquered Tanah Melayu during the World War 2, the Seremban folks rebelled by throwing siew pao at the Japs, hence given the name Seremban’s Siew Pao Empire. It might be one of the reasons why Japs retreated other than the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

We reached at the stall and when we were just about to place our orders, the boss told us that all the siew pao has been sold and he will bake for us if we were going to buy 30 siew pao from him. We start to collect the orders and managed to come up with 80 siew pao. Remember the Empayar Siew Pao Seremban story I told just now, it was late that time and I think we should buy more so we are able to defend ourselves when we meet up with robbers or rapists.

After one hour, we headed back to collect our siew pao. We can feel the heat from the freshly baked siew pao. The outer skin is crispy and the ingredient inside it is hot and juicy.

I bought 15 siew pao for my friends and housemates and I ate 4 of them. Too difficult to resist something that’s just came out from oven. The price? It costs RM1.10 per siew pao.

Cool Weather to be Blamed?

The weather was cool recently, raining almost every day. It is too difficult to resist but to jump on the bed, cover myself up with a blanket and sleep. On the other hand, too much sleep will cause me headaches. No choice but to laze around with this kind of weather. Errr… did I mentioned “no choice” just now? Argghh… I’m starting to give excuses again.

I’m suppose to do my final year project but what I did for the past few days were actually time wasting. I played Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars and I just finished the GDI campaign. It took me some time to destroy that celaka Nod and Scrin. For those who knows nothing about games, there are three forces you can choose from which are GDI – the good guy, Nod – the terrorists and Scrin – aliens from outer space that invade the Earth for tiberium. Tiberium is some crystal liked mineral that generate some sort of energy.

It’s actually one of my favourite games when it launched its first series, Command and Conquer: Red Alert for the Sony Playstation platform. It’s a RTS (Real Time Strategy) game where you need to build a strong army and attack your opponents before they manage to get their hands on you. It’s quite challenging as timing and controlling is crucial in game like this.

Back to my life before I start giving lectures about this game and the series. So, after I finished the GDI campaign, and there’re still Nod and Scrin campaigns which I think I don’t think I have the energy to continue them anymore. I heard there’s a Hong Kong drama that’s nice – 溏心风暴 (Heart of Greed), those diehard fans of Hong Kong dramas should know this.

Out of curiousity, I watched the first episode last night and instantly, I got hooked and ended up with fifteen episodes right now. Twenty five episodes more to go and I guess I won’t start my FYP that soon. Help me anyone?
